Pre-launch check process

10 minReviewed: 2026-10-28Content changed: 2026-10-28

You launch with a landing page that works and matches the ad, tracking that records one conversion per action, and settings you have confirmed line by line.

Scope

  • New Search or Performance Max campaigns, and relaunches after major site changes.
  • Checks you do yourself in the browser and in Google Ads.
  • Does not guarantee approval: ad review is done by Google.

What to prepare

  • Final landing page URL and a test device on the target country's network if possible
  • Access to Google Ads and your analytics or tag manager
  • The offer, price and contact details exactly as they appear on the page

Steps

  1. Open the final URL on desktop and mobile

The page should load without errors, without login walls, and without redirecting to a different domain than the one in the ad. Check that the main offer is visible on the first screen.

  2. Compare the ad promise with the page

Product, price, discount and delivery terms in the ad text must match what the page shows. If the page shows different terms, fix the page or the ad.

  3. Check contact information and terms

Business name, contact method, privacy policy and return or service terms should be easy to find from the landing page.

  4. Verify a test conversion

Complete the conversion action yourself once. In Google Ads → Goals → Conversions, check that the action shows as recording and that one action created one conversion.

  5. Confirm campaign settings

Re-read location, language, budget and currency, bidding goal, ad text and final URL. Write down anything you are unsure about instead of guessing.

Expected result

  • Landing page loads and matches the ad
  • One test action recorded once
  • A list of settings you confirmed and anything still open
